Give us the quick history.

Starting in 2003, Chris Clark began working with the LA County Interns, Residents, and Fellows on the group disability plan and to help them secure individual own occupation disability coverage. Chris quickly built rapport with many of the Residency programs, and they began asking him to setup and provide comprehensive financial education programs for the Residents and Fellows. Disability insurance is a central component of financial education programs that were setup for Residents and Fellows. Over the last 20 years, Chris has worked with thousands of Residents and Fellows, helping them secure disability insurance and providing them with financial education. Chris has presented to and setup educational programs for Residents and Fellows at many different schools around the country including USC, UCLA, The University of Tennessee, Stanford, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Cleveland Clinic, MUSC, UCSD, UCSF and more. Chris has been involved in Resident and Fellow orientations his whole career and specializes in setting up educational programs for them. Chris’s favorite part of the job is working directly with Residents and Fellows to build relationships and help them achieve their goals.

Jared Fenlason

Give us the quick history.

Since 2011, I have been helping physicians struggling with stress. In my early career, I worked with state medical boards from all 50 states to help physicians struggling with anxiety, depression, burn out and substance abuse. I realized many of the struggles my clients had at the time, came from financial issues they were dealing with. I believed if I could help early career physician learn more about their finances, I could relieve some of the financial stress that led to burn out, anxiety and depression. By doing this I could give my clients the opportunity to have a happier, healthier, longer career in medicine with less financial stress and in return they could help more people.

Tom Clark

Our Senior partner, Tom Clark, began working with Residents and Fellows in 1990 and helped to implement the group disability plan that still to this day covers all the Interns, Residents, and Fellows paid by Los Angeles County. The group plan was implemented in the late 90s. Tom worked as the endorsed disability broker for all the LA county Residents for over 20 years. The central part of Tom’s work was meeting the incoming Interns, Residents, and Fellows at orientation every year to explain the group disability plan benefit that covered them and help them secure an individual disability policy that would then cover them for the rest of their career. Tom is still actively helping his physician clients today.
